Hi Laurie and Sue, I don't know what screen reader you are using Laurie, but if Jaws, the options that you are seeing to select things are headings for combo boxes. To access a combo box using Jaws, sit on the first choice, or where it says combo box (try both in case one or the other works) and press alt+down arrow to open the combo box. Down arrow until the selection you want is highlighted, then press the PC cursor button to leave and close that combo box. That button is on the far right of the number pad, second up from the bottom. Once you have made all of the selections that you need to make, look for something labeled "save changes button" and hit enter. This is within the preferences section of the my account page. That's what I see anyway. Hope that might help. I want to choose .brf format because I read the books on the original Bookport. If I don't set preferences, I can't get the book to download. If I try to set preferences by tabbing across the choices, the first choice is for refreshable braille with various lengths lines, and that is followed by MP3 choices which I don't want to use. I feel very stupid, but I don't understand this, and the old choices worked fine for me. I may have to download in daisy format. I don't like it as well because on the old Bookport I can't hear the names of the books; I don't know why. So, I share your frustration and disappointment! Lori C. I was thrown to my book history page. They have to undo this. I am a Braille only user and cannot see all of the choices the way it is now. I wish they were in a row like they used to be. I guess I will have to stop being a member if this is not fixed. Sue S. You should be able to set the default to BRF, and from that point on, the combo box will always be set to BRF, though of course if you need to download something in DAISY or MP3, you can change it for that particular book. I decided to download some of Rachael Ray's books to see if I could do more cooking since my wife has to work. I did a search and found several of them. I selected one and chose brf format. The download went as expected. I then chose another book and selected brf. This time when I clicked on the download button it didn't come up with the filename dialog. Instead it came up with my history page. It showed that it was preparing the book in MP3 format. I am very certain I did not choose MP3 in the combo box. I tried to go choose brf again and it still went to the history page showing it was being prepared for MP3. I next tried to download another book. I was very careful about choosing brf and clicked on the download button. It again went to my history page and it shows that it is now preparing this book for MP3 format also. You might want to see if you can duplicate this. It is going to cause big problems for some members if this keeps happening. It is also going to cause big issues with over loading the servers with MP3 preparation that people will not then download. Thanks. Dan Beaver No virus found in this message.
