Hello Everyone!

If you missed the first meeting of The writer's Practice Group, fear not, we will be meeting again! The next meeting of the group will be on Wednesday November 7, 2007, at 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time in the Friends Of Bookshare Classroom at:

http://conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs0f1c528bd81b

The group will be meeting at this time each Wednesday evening to write and read aloud on specific topics designed to help us to improve our writing. We will be discussing techniques we can use to become more adept writers.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Below is one required writing topic that each member will write, and bring to the group to read aloud, and four other writing topics that you can use as writing prompts for daily writing practice.

Peace,
Mayrie

Topics For Next Week
These are topics that will help us not to feel trapped when trying to write every day. The required topic is one that we can spend more time preparing than is available during the topics that we cover during the group meetings. No one always writes at their best under pressure of time. This is your opportunity to shine!

1. Make a list of three memories you would not want to part with. Make
a list of three memories you would gladly be rid of.
Choose one to write about in detail, and write about it.These are memories about which you have strong feelings. (Required)

2. Ask at least three friends to select what they feel is the most beautiful word in the English language, and jot down their selections. Alternatively, try the same with their least favorites. Include as many of these words as you can into a poem or paragraph about words.

3. Recall a time when, as a teenager or preteen, you felt vulnerable. Describe that time without using any words that explain how you felt.
In other words, strive to convince your reader that you were lonely,
sad, frightened, whatever, without mentioning any of these abstract
 words.

4. Write about a back yard, or a kitchen.

5.Free write on a topic of your choosing.
