Hi. I would disagree with you slightly on this. I have noticed quite a few books that show up as fair on the validation page but are actually fine when I open them. All have the section break problem. Also it seems to make more of a formatting mess when I save as plain text without converting the section breaks first. If nothing else, it makes it easier to keep track of what page of the book you are on since section breaks are unreliable.

It isn't actually necessary to replace section breaks with page breaks--the
Bookshare conversion utility knows how to handle the section breaks. But of
course there's nothing wrong with doing so if you want. The reason it
doesn't always work is that you can't tell Word to distinguish between
regular section breaks and page breaking section breaks. So if there are the
other kind of section breaks in the book and you convert them to page
breaks, you'll have a bit of a mess.
