Thanks for cleaning that up for me, Judy. Wish I could scan and submit
books for people to do, but I only have things to proof (and the ability
to proof; I could recommend books for scanners (do prospective scanners not
look at the wish list? Or are there not enough people with the right
equipment? Maybe I'll have my husband hook up my scanner and i'll
alternate proofing scanning. After all, that's what medication is for

site?

Hi Cindy, many older books are being put back into the checkout queue as
BSOs to be re-proofread to bring them up to the current standards, and fix
up problems that they have. Madeleine posted about it. They aren't doing
new scans. I'm guessing the notices just get generated automatically.
I wouldn't take it personally. Even if it is only improving the collection
by adding stuff like DAISY navigation, isn't that a good thing for the
members that read these books? Besides, it's not like we have thousands of
books that are waiting to be proofread right now--it's just the opposite.
There have been very few books for anyone to proofread for almost a year.
I guess I have a different take on it. smile.

Has anyone else been getting email notices that your books have not been
accepted? I don't knkow what's gong on but these notices say won't clutter
themail with the quote --briefly the notes say that the book is rejected
because a BSDO was done of it and it's very poor quality. The thing is,
these are books that I proofed l years ago and presumably have been in
the collection for years. Of course I've stopped being annoyed and upset
and just delete the email but I'm wondering what's going on? I can't
believe bookshare is "cleaning up" up the collection because there was
nothing wrong with the books; it did occur to me that mayb the navigation
fonts etc. were no longer satisfactory,as these books were done, as I say,
years ago and I don't remember if the present rules about font sizes were
the ame then, but it does seem to be a waste of someone's time to redo the
books for that reason alone, and they were fixed why would the BSO books be
rejected?
If I didn't saleslady have so many things to work on I'd do them myself
-- they were enjoyable reads; and I think ther people's time would be
better spend on preparing new books for the collection.
and the brief thank you for efforts kind of note at the end doesn't do
much to appease e. I wish whoever is in charge could prevent the mails
