I am with you on this point. I rather have a book contain more than less
header info for, as you point out, I can always eliminate it myself if it
bothers me.
And the truth is that I like seeing that info in the text as it tells me
where I happen to be within a book.
I realize that ours is perhaps a minoriyty viewpoint, but I'd suggest that
it is one of a larger minority than some might believe.
