Hi Darrell and Shelley,

Bookshare is all about making as many books accessible to as many people as possible. I can't say what Bookshare will or won't do because I don't get to make those decisions, smile.

I'm not sure exactly what the process is going to be for requesting NIMAC titles. I'm sure once we're fully geared up for NIMAC titles that a press release will go out with the details.

Best,
Jake

I believe RFB and D only has one title.

Smile, in Nimac.

Now, jake, as I do work with the schools, when the schools purchase the
titles, do they have to tell publisher to send to Nimac, and then contact
Bookshare to get the title here?

That is the procedure RFB and D is doing.

Just curious.

Hi Cheryl,

Shelley did a nice job explaining what NIMAC titles are. I'll just add that these are titles that we can only make available to users who fall under the
provisions of the applicable legislation. As such, we can't add them into
the general collection. The NIMAC flag will be set for qualified users and
then they will be able to access NIMAC sourced titles like regular Bookshare
books.

I don't know how many NIMAC sourced titles we'll have, but they won't be a
huge part of the collection right now. As Cindy pointed out, we haven't
added any to the collection yet, but the infrastructure has been built into
the website, so that it is there when we're ready to add them.

I was just on my accounts page and found the following.

User cannot download NIMAC sourced books

Just wondering what nimac books are and why it's set to not download them?
Can anyone satisfy my curiosity? Thanks.

 Cheryl
