I wonder if Bookshare has any training materials online? I've gotten the basic concept, but someone wrote to me off list to go over the responsibilities of validators in a nice concrete helpful way that has really boosted my confidence. I know several of you are rolling your eyes and thinking, "Sheesh, how hard can it be?" but the fact is people have different learning styles and that doesn't mean they have lower intelligence.. this is true of everyone. Just look up "learning styles" on the web. I am thinking had I been directed to some sort of text or spoken overview/training it would have helped me feel less like I was dropped into a task with just the general framework of what I supposed to be doing there. If this already exists.. and someone else told me about a chat on the topic too which I am about to go listen to, then wonderful.. Was I told? OK, now let's get one thing straight.. I am absolutely not criticizing or complaining.. I know a thing or two about all this volunteer stuff and know what works and what does not. So just please take my questions as sincere desiring to do my very best as a volunteer and freebie advice from someone who used to get paid for it. Sorry if I sound touchy.. I just don't want to get jumped on like I was on the other list. Thanks for any help you can give me.
