Hi Marilyn, According to Section 3 of our Volunteer Manual,: The following are examples of materials that are not required: . Book jacket . Book cover . Summaries of books for a book's series . Excerpts from upcoming or previous books written by the author(s) . Indices In this light, you may want to consider taking one of the following steps, according to your priorities and time availability: 1. Retain the indices but remove the page numbers, since they're not shown anywhere else in the book. 2. Remove the indices altogether. We really appreciate your ability and willingness to conquer these difficult challenges. All the best, Darrell ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marilyn Beasley" <mbeasley@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, April 27, 2008 8:19 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] To Index or Not to Index... Good morning, All. I know you were discussing this when I first started, but I wasn't paying attention and I don't think I remember the final outcome. I just finished validating a book that is 2,200-plus pages, but it has no pages numbers (ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY). Now, at the end I did the glossary, and I did the bibliography, but I'm wondering if I have to do the TWO indices, which now total 92 pages but are such a mess that they'll be closer to 300 pages when I'm done with them. So, like I said, the indices are a mess, and of course the page numbers they refer to are useless because the book has no page numbers. Do I have to include the indices?
