I wonder if we will hear more about the new librarian, their name, what there first assignments will be, etc. I wanted to be a librarian many years ago, but thought teaching would offer more job opportunities; still love libraries though!

Woops, my apologies for cluttering up your in boxes with that email. That'll teach me to read everything before replying.Julia----- Original Message ----- From: "Monica Willyard" <rhyami@xxxxxxxxx>To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2009 10:19 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: synopses and reviewsPavi was at the first one, the one for members. That is where Lisa talked about the librarian and such. Pavi was not at the second one, the session for volunteers. John Glass, Rob Turner, and our wonderful Carrie handled the volunteer session. The first session is archived at http://www.friendsofbookshare.org/jan_20_2009_Bookshares_new_website.mp3 It's odd, but I don't see the second session posted. I thought Bob Acosta had said it would be. Anyhow, you'll be able to hear the first session in its entirety. I know Pavi had prior commitments and was not there either. Lisa has said that they'll be using their book metadata service during the upcoming months to fix books fromtheinternational providers you're referring to as well as books that have nosynopsis. Bookshare has just brought a librarian on board, and that's goingto help a lot. Reviews are separate from the synopsis, and there is a very nice form on each book's page that lets you submit a personal review. It's no longer necessary to send your review to Pavi or anyone else. Take a look at the book The Power Of Positive Thinking to see what I'm talking about. You'll see my review below the copyright and synopsis for the book. The review system works very much like Amazon or Audible now.
