Hi Cindy! If "The Diplomat's Wife" is held for Deborah H, that's fine. I just offered on the list to proofread the book, and I thought that was enough, not knowing the procedure or where to begin finding out how to put a hold on a book..
So, do I understand this correctly that, if a person posts to the list and says he or she is scanning a book and is in need of a proofreader, do I e-mail the scanist and say I want him or her to put a hold on the book for me, or do I contact the volunteer coordinator from the web site? I am still a little unsure of the proper procedure.

Hi, Debby.I'm afraid I misled you, and I apologize. I looked last night and couldn't find it either, anywhere. I looked on the being-scanned list and saw that I had noted that it was available for proofing. Usually, when someone posts that they've submitted a book I check the checkout list before noting that the book is available for proofing. Either Pam had said it was available for proofing and I didn't check myself or I mistook Pam's note that it was ready for proofing to mean that it was actually available for proofing and so I crossed off the book on the list and made that note. Henceforth I'll check the checkout list myself before making notes on the being-scanned list.I just did check the checkout List and it is there now with a hold forDeborah H. Did you let Shannon know that they wanted to proof it, or did you merely offer here on the list? and were willing to proof rather than really wanted to in particular?to let that persWhen you particularly want to proof a book that someone has sid they're going to scane, it's a good to ask that person to put a hold on the book.Anyway, I do apologize for being the cause of your wasting your time last night looking at all those pages.CindyWish List (i.e., books wanted added to the collection) and books-being-scanned list available at sites below https://wiki.benetech.org/display/BSO/Books+Being+Scanned+List--- On Sat, 10/31/09, Debby Franson <the.bee@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > From: Debby Franson <the.bee@xxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: [bksvol-discuss] The Diplomat's Wife > To: "bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Date: Saturday, October 31, 2009, 9:57 AM > Hi! > > There was a request for someone to proofread a book that > was ready for proofing called "The Diplomat's Wife" by Pam > Jenoff and I offered to proof it.
