I hate to tell you, but yes, the later year should be used. And yes, the
field will only accept one year. This is probably done so that the data can
easily be stored as a number, and the latest date is really the only one
that will have bearing as time progresses.

Thanks to Grace's email, I learned that my validation of A Case for Easter
had been put back on Step 1 page. I really never thought about the need to
do that before. I will try and be better. But I must say, the page seems to
take so gosh darn long to load I just don't want to check it again and
again. I have taken to just copying and pasting the whole thing into a file
about once a week to look at the list, but even then, pretty infrequently.
How a little $2.99 book can cost so much time, but I guess since it is
making a case for making us all better understand the world and religion, it
must be worthwhile.
The book apparently is a small book which is an excerpt from a larger book
and it had 2 copyright dates, and indeed a longer title than I had noticed.
Hopefully I got it fixed up okay and re-approved it, sending back up the RTF
converted and scano corrected version I had done back in April.
Something though that confused me was that the copyright page says copyright
1998, 2003 just like that and then by the author's name. So when I'm on the
final step 2 page to put that in, the form would kick back an error unless I
just put in a four digit number for the year. So I didn't know what to do,
and went ahead and put in 1998.
Probably screwed it up again.
Like I say, I like to read too much and this just feels a bit too crazy use
of time, and I'm flustered by this whole process at the moment. Sometimes I
think I'm just too durn dumb! (O well, huh?)

i had validated this book a couple months ago. Thanks to another volunteer,
I learned that this book had been returned to the Step 1 page. I did not
know I was suppose to check for that.
I am guessing 2 things possibly needed follow up:
1. TITLE (more complete) 2. COPYRIGHT of Title verifification.
I checked copyright page again.
I discovered that The Case for Easter title is in fact a larger title. And
that it is an excerpt from another book (The Case for Christ) by same
author,
All the work I did in the corrections of headers and page numbers, etc. in previous submission still goes as this .RTF file is the same. I just put the more complete title The Case for Easter: A Journalist Investigates the Evidence for the Resurrection), and this additional information about the author's statement that the book is part of a larger work, copyrighted in 1998, which uses the same ISBN number.
NOTE: When I tried to put 1998, 2003 in Copyright Date form field, it gave
me an ERROR. So I just put in the 1998. The copyright page says 1998,
2003. So I don't know what the Bookshare field's problem is.
This is a little $2.99 paperback book. Sorry for all the trouble. Maybe I
can be forgiven?
