This probably won't help at all, but I'll send it anyway. I mostly use firefox, but I do use IE to renew my downloaded books because it's so much faster. After all this discussion I decided to see if I have the same problem as you, Allison. It turns out I have IE 5.1 for the Mac, so this may not help at all. Or, since I was reading too carefully, maybe these suggestions have already been made. In preferences, in Security, under web browser, there are boxes to check for when to show an alert. I have them all unchecked, and I do not get a warning "when entering a page that is secure"or "when entering a page that is not secure" If nothing you've tried works for IE 6, and you can't use IE 7 with JAWS, maybe you can still download IE 5. The main reason I don't use it is because it's Microsoft and I'm against that on general principals smile--besides, I'd heard there were holes and things, though they probably wouldn't affect my Mac.
