Hi everyone!

Kim's answer got me thinking that the best compromise might be 6 dots in the dot leaders, so that it would look a little nicer for the sighted reader than just an elipses and there wouldn't be much chattering with the screen readers that don't ignore the dots or having people wading through a meriad of dots on a braille display. I think everyone would benefit that way.

Hi, Debby, I was reading your message and when I came to the Table of
Contents, Jaws would say "dot-dot-dot" and my fingers could read those dots.
I think if one has a book in front of one, those guide dots are expected
when one reads a Table of Contents. When one has a Braille Display, I think
I'd agree with Evan. I think there should be a few dots to indicate one is
reading a Table of Contents page, but since the display has only one line of
Braille one can read at a time, it's kind of boring to contend with a lot of
dots. Maybe four or five would be enough. You want to have more dots than is
in an ellipsis so you can tell them apart (dots for contents page from
ellipsis). I wish to get to the story a little bit faster and a whole bunch
of dots impedes progress. Regards, Kim.

Hi everyone!

Here is a table of contents with the dot leaders as I found it. I didn't
insert anything.

How does it look for you sighted readers?

How does it come out on a braille display?

How does it sound to those who use screen readers?

Window-Eyes, at least the way I have it set totally ignores these dot
leaders. If I add periods like this on a line:

......
  Window-Eyes also ignores them.

Here's the table of contents.
