I thought we were supposed to leave British punctuation as is too.

Hi Bob,

That wouldn't work, I don't think. Opening quotes are neither preceded by
or followed by a space, so you'd only be changing the opening quotes that
are the second part of a speech by one person. Besides, aren't we supposed
to leave British punctuation alone?

You'd have to do what you say and add the paragraph mark followed by an
apostrophe and replace it with a paragraph mark followed by a quotation
mark. And do the same thng with the apostrophe first and the paragraph mark
second. But still, I thought we were supposed to leave that British
punctuation alone.

Mayrie

What about doing two finds and replaces?

The first one would change a space followed by an apostrophe to a space
followed by a quote.
The second would change an apostrophe followed by a space to a quote
followed by a space.

I think that'd work.
