But I only see ten Stephen White books in the collection. Are the last three
still on hold?

All of the Stephen White books are in the collection now. We were missing
the thirteenth one. It was on step one for quite awhile. I validated it, and
now, they're all there. I really like that series, and recommend it highly.

Hi, Sue.

There's Patricia Cornwell; her books are a combination of mystery and
medical thriller with some psychological aspects to them. Several of her
books are already on Bookshare, but a few could use a rescan.

F. Paul Wilson is another doctor who writes a pretty good medical
thriller. some of his books verge on the horror, but this is mostly
because he concentrates more on the aspects of human nature and what
happens when power and technology get into the wrong hands rather than
traditionally scary subjects. He wrote The Touch, The Select, Implant, and
a few other medical thrillers I can't think of. He also has a mystery
series featuring Repairman Jack. I think a few of his books are on
Bookshare, but I'm not sure which ones.

Stephen White also writes mysteries where a psychologist helps solve
crimes with his detective friend. I think I saw one of his books on the
Step 1 page a month or so ago, so it might not be in the collection yet.

Oh, and there's Kathy Reichs, she writes about a forensic anthropologist
that is always getting caught up in deadly crime solving. Several of her
books are on Bookshare as well. Cindy validated Cross Bones by her, so I
know that one is at least excellent quality. <smiles>

HTH,

Lisa

Jonathan Kellerman writes psychological thrillers, and Michael Palmer MD is another medical thriller author. Can't think of any more off the top.

Sharon,

Sorry, but it's not possible. Bookshare's categories are not broken down
far enough to allow this, and even if they are, many volunteers don't
mark
the categories properly. Only about two thirds of the books on Step 1 at
the moment are marked either Fiction or Nonfiction.

My suggestion would be to search Google, Library of Congress, NLS, or
your
local library's website to find authors which write medical and/or
psychological thrillers, then look the authors up on Bookshare.

BTW, I do know that all of Robin Cook's books are on Bookshare, and so
are
all of Tess Gerritsen's medical thrillers. They are the only two I'm
familiar with who write medical thrillers.

I'm not familiar with who writes psychological thrillers, though, so I
can't
help you there.

HTH

Gerald

Oh, yes, I have read Coma, and in fact all of Robin Cook's books, plus
many
other medical thrillers on bookshare.org.

Sue,

Have you read the Robin Cook books we have in the
collection? I remember the movie Coma, which I
enjoyed. I validated Shelley's rescan of Brain, which
if you haven't read you might enjoy.
