That's really impressive. I think I see a new scanner purchase in my near
future! Thanks, Robert, for sharing this information.

It is worth the investmennt. I have got better scans and it gets all the
lines even down by the binder. As for me, even the headers have been
better,
easier to replace with the control/h and while having one good hand, it
scans 6 to 8 pages while I am reading the current page. I think it is set
at
350 words a minute or there abouts.

OpticBook

Hi Robert and others who use an OpticBook scanner. Does it really scan and
recognize in four seconds? I'm in shock! My Epson Perfection 1660 takes
about 17 seconds. If this can really be cut, even if just by half, then
the OpticBook would be well worth the investment.

And if you will put up with another question...So you can scan in two-page
mode if you want to, and then use the edge feature for books that have
print that goes into the crease? Are there other goodies about this
scanner that I might want to know before making the purchase? Does it have
any drawbacks over a standard scanner?

Thanks for putting up with so many questions on a Monday morning! As my
1660 is still working perfectly well, I'd really need justification for
laying out $230 for a new scanner, but I'm willing to be convinced! <smile>
