Hi,I wasn't aware of the apostrophe; am I supposed to do that one, too? I guess I'll do it from now on. Thanks Evan!Marty-----Original Message----- From: Evan ReeseSent: Monday, July 15, 2013 12:11 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Smart quotes Marty, you're assumption is correct. 0145 and 0146 are the opening and closing single quotes respectively. I have always used the combination of numbers ^0147, ^0148 and ^0034. I have never even seen the combination ^0145, ^0146 and ^0039. What doesthe second combination do? Is that for the smart British quotation marks?Debby At 12:11 PM 7/9/2013, Martha Rafter wroteHi Tracy, To change smart quotes to regular quotes: In the find box, type ^0147 In the replace box type ^0034 hit enter. then In the find box type ^0148 In the replace box type ^0034 hit enter. then In the find box type ^0145 In the replace box type ^0039 Hit enter. then In the find box type ^0146 In the replace box type ^0039 Hit enter.Keep in mind they say we don't have to do this any more as the bookshare tools do it, but I do it anyway. I am using Word 2003, if it matters. I wrote down how to turn off smart quotes, but neglected to write down how to get rid of any that might already exist. Thanks.
