O.K., Rui ? Since no one seems to be validating Until You, I was going to do it myself so it would get into the collection (I think it has been on the download list for a couple of weeks), but instead I hereby announce the fact. I do validate carefully before submitting, so the book should be an easy read. In addition to reading books and validating before I submit, I run a spell-check and double-check pagination. This book, then, should be easy and quick to validate. Be forewarned, though, that it is a romance (the sequel to Rosamund) and has some specific but delicately, i.e., euphemistically, written sex scenes. Also, it?s set in the early 16th century and unlike some so-called historical romances this has a lot of detail about the mores, customs, clothing, food and events of the time period and place (1513-1515) Carrie, I was going to point out, until you did yourself, that you?re sighted, and I think that makes a big difference when scanning and validating things like cookbooks or histories with dates, or graphs and side notes, etc. I don?t know how many volunteers there are who are sighted, but I don?t think there are as many as there are members, at least not in this discussion group, and I think, as you point out, there are some books that, to be rated Excellent, need to be validated by a sighted person, and it would be better for such a person to do his/her own validating. And I echo Mary. Please do the cookbooks that people seem to want. I know from having helped people out in the past that those fractional quantities don?t scan well, and I?m not fond of validating cookbooks. I?ve retired from cooking (grin).
