what about downloading something from bookshare in html format then converting it to rtf? I think the public domain books come in that format, or is that an old practice?

Thank you so much!  I've tried Googling and Gutenberg, and you're right,
books are basically in .txt format.  I hadn't thought of the Baen Free
Library, though, so I'll give that a shot.
