It should be on the checkout list now. I don't know when I'll get the rest done. The recovery from my operation has gone so well that I tend to do a bit too much, then have to rest a couple days. I have three more of the books scanned but not cleaned up, but I think I'm quitting early tonight.

OK, I will put Hold for Bob W in the title of the Joy Makers. I should
be able to put it in this weekend.

Hi Misha.
I would like to proof read The Joy Makers by James Gunn.

I wouldn't mind doing any of the others if you have problems getting
proofers for them, but would especially like The Joy Makers.

Wow! When I went away for a short vacation with my older brother a
couple days ago, the list was drowsing along with only a few emails. I
come back, boom, hundreds of emails.

Anyway, I have started to scan a series of 10 science fiction books
called Classics of Modern Science Fiction.

The series was published in the 1980s and the stories are mostly from
the 1940s and 1950s. These are books that are described by the series
editor and in the foreword by Isaac Asimov as overlooked and out of
print at the time of the publication of this series. So far I have
scanned and read at least some part of 5 of them and agree that these
are underappreciated. I am really pleased to have the opportunity to
add them to the bookshare library.

The first book in the series is really what caught my attention though,
because it was one of the books I listed back when we had the personal
favorite book poll. So here is the series ...

Men, Martians and Machines by Eric Frank Russell
The Joy Makers by James Gunn
The Shores of Another Sea by Chad Oliver
The Classic Philip Jose Farmer 1952-1964
The Classic Philip Jose Farmer 1964-1973
The Forgotten Planet by Murray Leinster
The Paradox Men by Charles L. Harness
Unearthly Neighbors by Chad Oliver
Shadows in the Sun by Chad Oliver
Greener Than You Think by Ward Moore

Well, clearly the series editor, George Zebrowski thinks Chad Oliver is
an overlooked writer.
