Hello Merrill:

I scanned almost exclusively library books. I am careful to press as hard as
necessary but not too hard. So I don't break the binding. Also I generally
scan a single page at a time and not double pages. So I don't have to press
too hard to get a good scan. This takes longer but it is easier on the books.

I have discovered that lots of you scan library books. I've never done this.
How do you keep the book in tact? My own books look quite ragged after I've
flattened them on the scanner.
