The methodology of this review is highly questionable and the
foundation has sunk to a new low. It was difficult to accept that
this device produced better scans than the k1000 until I read again
how the author scanned a book using the flatbed scanner. The author
did not press down on the book to ensure that the page was flat. The
author just placed the book on the scanner with the curved edge and
hoped for the best. How silly. No one scans books like this. I
believe that if someone used good scanning techniques, a quality
scanner, and optimized settings on k1000, the two end products would
be similar with the k1000 being slightly better. I am told that
images scanned from a flatbed scanner have greater clarity than those
taken with a camera.
