Hello Julie:
You might want to check out the Plustek unit. This scanner is supposed
to be able to read books without the need to flatten them out. Of course before
buying any scanner, always check with Kurzweil or Freedom Scientific to make
sure that the scanner you are looking will work and that it has the
capabilities you want.
