Not having seen a reply to this question, allow me to put my two cents-worth in. The Vibe is basiclly a CD player, albeit a DAISY-equipped one. There's an RFB&D version, though I think now they're selling one called the Wave. If bookshare files were transferred to MP3 and from there to a CD, with K1000 for example, you could read them on the Victor Vibe, but that means you'd have gone through quite a transfer process on a fairly powerful computer sysgtem. The Vibe does *not* have a speech synthesizer, though it probably has a few digitally recorded status announcements as most such units now do. In other words, a Book Courier would really be the way to go, or perhaps the new VoiceSense. -- Don't let 7/15/07 be the Day the MUSIC Died! <www.savenetradio.org> for the scoop!
