Hi Sue,

My guess, or opinion, on the Madelyn books would be they are targeted at
the early readers or younger group.  Younger if someone is reading them in
order to spur their interest, but simple and short enough for the early
readers.  Another series I would consider in the same category, and quite
cute, with nice pictures and not too many words on each page would be the
Babbar (spelling???) books.

Dave, who's mother was a children's librarian, and consequently was
subjected, or introduced, to a variety of early books.
