HI Cindy,

There isn't volume change but depending on the users preferences it may be
indicated by a verbal announcement or a simple pitch change. I have always
just left them as is. I have also when scanning left the book in the font it
was in instead of using a specified font in Kurzweil. It appears that it
does leave all the font sizing and types in tacked.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Question re caps

The books I'm validating now has the first sentence of
every chapter in capital letters. In the past, if the
file I downloaded did not put them in caps, I didn't
either, since when I proofed for PG the rule was not
to. In fact, I might have change them to normal
sentence case. The last book I validated that had the
first words in caps,I did leave them rather than
change them, but now I'm wondering--especially for
those of you who listen to the books--I seem to
remember someone saying, at least as far as e-mails
go, that caps are louder and/or indicae emphasis. Is
this true in books? Shall I change the first lines of
the chapters to ordinary sentence case?

Cindy
