Thanks Mary & Cindy. I don't have Carrie's email, so maybe I'll just try resubmitting the book. If anyone wants to proof it, I'ts only about 90 pages long and it's about the hisotry of the London Underground subway system. it's called "Underground: Official Handbook".
Thanks. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, December 10, 2011 6:58 PM To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Question on resubmitting a rejected book
To add to Mayrie's note. If you have the scanned copyright page, Write to Carrie. tell her that you have it, and ask if you can send it to her and she can attach it to the book and then approve it.Grandma Cindy________________________________ From: Mayrie ReNae <mayrierenae@xxxxxxxxx> To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, December 10, 2011 11:01 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Question on resubmitting a rejected book Hi Robin, I am assuming that you are the submitter/scanner of the book, and not the proofreader. Yes, you can resubmit the book with the change you mention, but it'll have to be proofread again. However, if the book was returned to the checkout page for more editing, it might be best to have someone rejectit so that you can resubmit the book.I suspect that if the book was determined not to have a copyright page, the proofreader perhaps deleted that page accidentally. I seriously doubt thatthe lack of a copyright symbol would be reason enough to reject the book. I'm sorry that the proofreader didn't contact you if he/she was having problems. Unfortunately, because the contact information that submitters give is on the book history page, I think that many volunteers do not know where to find it if they are not on this list. And many aren't on this list. I feel your frustration, and I'm sorry.I hope my ramble has helped a little. And again, I'm sorry you've had sucha tiny thing cause such trouble! I submitted a scan of a book and got notified that it was rejected. the reason noted was that it had not copyrightpage. I have gone back to the printed book and found that the scanner just dropped the copyright symbol in front of the text. Should I just go throughthe upload process again with this small edit or is there an expedited wayof telling someone that's all that was missing? And, can I vent for just a moment that I gave my contact information in the comments section and wasnever contacted before this was rejected? Bergh! Thanks.
