Hi,
Only administrators can access the queue on the actual BookShare website, so you won't be able to see it.

Every couple of weeks though, Gustavo sends a current list to Rui, and he in turn posts it on his website.

http://members.cox.net/booksharescans/

This list also includes a list of the books checked out for editing by a validator and books listed on the step 1 page.

HTH,
Jake

Hi Julie,
It would stand to reason that Gustavo has a comment history
pane in the
approval section of the website, just as we do when clicking on a
download
link from the step 1 page.

This means that all comments for the book would be shown as well
as the
history of the book in the system.

Is there some reason you're thinking submitters comments just
disappear?

Hi, Cindy, and I appreciate you checking. Admittedly, I haven't
in a long
time so never would have known there was an issue with THE
SLEEPOVER
SECRET
when I submitted it. I should have known this would happen,
though,
because
I knew it was a story but based on a TV show, so I should have
anticipated
there would be questions and added a note to the validator, who
ended up
being Cheryl, asking that the fact that it is indeed a story be
mentioned
in
the admin field. You know, I've been thinking, and it would be
nice if
submitters were given two comments fields, one if there are any
notes for
the validator and another if we have anything that needs to be
said that
can
be held until it reaches the admin, so we can make our own
comments
instead
of hoping the validator will do it. Anyway, just some ramblings
from
someone
who feels like talking, apparently. <smile> Take care.

Thanks, Pratik.

The system has one flaw--validators never are told
what happens to the books after they upload them. Only
submitters are told if their books are accepted or
rejected. If Ihadn't happened to notice Julian's Cat
and the Sleepover when I was looking for something
else the the fact that they are back on the download
list wouldn't be known.

I'll have to remember to look for books I've
validated. I've been checking to see if they're in the
colleciton yet but I haven't checked the download list
recently. The last time I saw them was on the
administrators' queue.

Cindy,

The best way to handle this is to let the validator
answer the question in
the comments field by revalidating the book. Upload
the same
corrected/updated copy of the book.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Question

How do you answer a question when it's asked on
page
one when a book is returned? I provided some pages
for Two of a Kind, the Sleepover Secret, and I know
it's o.k. for the collection. It's back on the page
one
list with a question, is it a a screenplay. The
answer is "no," is a story based on the twins
Ashley
and Mary-Kate. How does one convey that information?
Do
we have to download it, re-validate and put that
info
in the comments, or is there some quicker way. I
know
that when books are returned to page one they are
the originals. Does Julie or Cheryl have to download
and delete the one on the list and re-upload the
validted one with the added explanations about the
copyright and the fact that it's a story and not a
screen play?

Cindy
