I also change them, partly out of habit, (it is very little work), and partly because, if it's a book I want to read in braille on my Pac Mate, it'll show a hyphen in place of the em dash, (instead of the double hyphen) and I don't want that for sure.

I change them anyway, even though I know we don't have to. The sound my JAWS makes to tell me there's an em dash sounds too much like a word to my ears. I know that dash dash is punctuation. HTH!

Naw, not too much work, you just hit ctrl-h then ^+ and then -- then
find the replace all button.  That takes about a minute.  Glad to know
the conversion tool now can take care of this if you forget to do so.
