I use the one clostest to the end you open. The lid should open front to
back.

Hi Larry,
My scanner the 3800, has three large round buttons and a long one at the
top, or farthest away from me. Which is the "front" button? I have been
turning my scanner off and turning it back on again, but if I don't have to
do that, that'd be super. So, which button is which?
