According to the help information for the scanner utility, you can tap any
of the buttons on the top of the scanner to wake it back up.

Hi Larry,
My scanner the 3800, has three large round buttons and a long one at
the top, or farthest away from me. Which is the "front" button? I
have been turning my scanner off and turning it back on again, but if I
don't have to do that, that'd be super. So, which button is which?
