Hi everyone, For anyone interested we're going to have the chance to chat on the phone and discuss a few things. I have scheduled this chat from 10 am-11 am PST. Please find the agenda and call-in information below: Agenda: 1. Approving books: it's taking me a long time. Does anyone have suggestions for how to speed that up (since we aren't hiring another me)? Does anyone NOT mind the wait? 2. Not enough scanners again: I'm not sure what else to do! Any suggestions to increase scanning capacity? Would it help if I returned some "poor" or "good" quality scans to the checkout queue (making sure that they were proofreadable first)? 3. Poor scans on the checkout queue. It's been brought to my attention that some of the scans aren't great quality. If this is the case, reject the book! It doesn't get deleted until I check it myself and delete it, so it would probably be a good way to give feedback to new scanners. Thoughts? Comments? 4. There have been questions about what the other volunteers do, since we have 300-400 of them. Our reporting system isn't perfect, so my numbers could be a bit off, but I think they're just working more slowly or only working periodically, as opposed to many of you regular, consistent volunteers. 5. How are we doing with communication? Are the newsletters helpful? Should we be sharing more information? 6. Other ideas for topics of discussion? Please let me know before Wednesday so that I can add them to the agenda.
