hey How much is one of those Optibooks, and do they fit in the space of a
usual scanner, may have to consider one, smile, as my 1660 will have to
eventually buckle under the pressure and want to be prepared, smile.

Scanning withdrawal is not pretty, smile.

Donna, it doesn't matter, I scan in two page mode and from beginning to end
it takes about 4 seconds or there abouts, that is in black and white. That
includes reconization too.

Hi Nan. I'm glad that you are enjoying your OpticBook scanner! After all
the discussion about it on this list, I went to their web site to check out
the details. Do you scan a book one page at a time, or do you have the
option of putting the book face down and scanning both pages at once if you
want to? I'm wondering if you scan one page at a time if it is faster than
scanning in two-page mode?

Anyway, congratulations on finding what works for you. It sounds like you
have the scanning bug! And you can submit anything to BookShare. There
will always be someone else who wants to read it sooner or later.

Just wanted y'all to know I got my new Plustek
OpticBook 360 scanner and am in absolute heaven.. I
scanned a whole book Friday and was amazed at the
accuracy.

I don't know if Bookshare wants books I scan for my own
use.. some may be pretty obscure. This one was "The
Landscape of Anglo-Saxon England" which sends me into
ratures but not sure it would many others.. whom
should I ask?
