Hi, Everyone,

I know that most of you scan with Kurtzweil, but for anyone using Open Book I
have a concern to share.

We have recently upgraded to Openbook 7.0, and when I scanned a recent book in
two-page mode, some of the scanned pages appeared with the two pages scanned in
one long page and the second page scanned as a blank page. This mis-scanning
seemed to occur somewhat randomly.

I do not batch scan, and when I scan I check each page so I caught these errors
and rescanned the pages.

But in two of the .ark files I have validated I have discovered this problem.
In Tar Baby, I did not understand why this problem of misformatted pages
occurred, but when I had the ssame scanning error I realized the scanner of
that book had and did not recognize the problem. I was able to salvage the
pages in Tar Baby. This same problem is occurring in Murder to go by Emma
Lathen. I am hoping I can salvage the misscanned pages.

I am mentioning this problem in case some of you use Open Book and are not
aware that two-page scanning can create problems. And if you have friends who
scan in Openbook and are not on this list, please let them know to check pages.

Thanks.

Cat Lover Lori
