Hi: I have never needed to just scan part of a page so I don't need to be a able to draw lines around the text. All the functions such as choosing how many columns, choosing whether the source is a scan or a pdf file, and starting a scan, are in the menus. Their manual is also very readable. How do you draw boxes around the text you want to OCR, or exclude things you don't want OCR'd without a mouse? How do you initially get the scan to start without clicking the Scan Greyscale button at the top? I haven't been able to figure those ones out. I don't like to just let Omnipage OCR recognize everything but I don't OCR page numbers that way I don't have to strip headings later. I just put the page numbers in myself. And too often it wants to recognize things as a table and I find it faster and less work to tell it what to do before it OCRs than I do to clean it up later. -- Jamie in Michigan Currently Reading: Sleeping with Anemone by Kate Collins Earn cash for answering trivia questions every 3 hours: http://instantcashsweepstakes.com/invitations/ref_link/49497 See everything I've read this year at: www.michiganrxtech.com/books.html
