Here is one about a sign-off that had some interesting consequences.

A co-worker of mine several years ago used to close his emails at work with
TANSTAAFL.  Shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

One day he was contacted by the company security team.  They explained that
they were investigating him for giving out confidential company info.  They
wanted to know that the string TANSTAAFL meant.

He laughed and explained that it is a string from a Robert Heinlein book
which means "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch".

We all got a very large laugh over the situation.
