I agree, Cindy. I didn't read Catch 22 either. I doubt that I'm younger than you. I graduated from high school in 1960. And I do remember the song you referred to.

I'd love to read Catch 22, because it's a bit of history. And Joseph Heller never wrote anything to match it.

Well, Mickey,

To reverse the words of a song which you're probably
too young to remember, "Dearie, I'much older than
you."

I checked on Amazon.com, because I remember it being
required reading whenI was in school, although I don't
think in my class, and I remember it's being published
long before you were in high school. It turns out,
according to the copyright page visible on amazon,
that it was originally published in 1937, and Rosten
renewed the copyright in 1965. A paperback was
published in 1968.

I also remember the movie Captain Newman, M.D. I
didn't read the book, so I wasn't disappointed in the
movie. It also had a young Tony Curtis.

Another book that I haven't read and really must,
because it's become a modern classic, is Joseph
Heller's Catch 22. I just checked and I see it's not
in the collection either. With the title phrase having
become often used and popular in today's vocabulary,
that should also be added to the collection

Cindy
