Because I can only type with my right hand, everyone thought I should only use a special keyboard. I always knew that I couldn't go through life trying to get a special keyboard. When I was eleven years old, I taught myself to use a "normal" keyboard while standing in a typewriter store. I simply place my right hand on the F, G, H, and J keys. I can reach most of the rest of the keys from this position. I was clocked in college as typing 40 WPM. I know I type faster than my husband and most of my friends. I can use this technique to access almost any keyboard I come across. Most of the time it is very efficient, unless my fingernails are too long or I am tired. I can't do much about the fact that I can only use my right hand, but I can type well. I have thought of marketing my technique which I have used successfully for the past eighteen years.
