I'm telling you about this because if you live in a urban area that borders a
wildlife area, I strongly suggest that you read The Beast in the Garden, which
is now in the collectionl Also, I saw on the news yesterday that black bears
are
invading an uburban area in California, though I don't remember wxactly
where--in northern or central California, I think. So far they haven't attacked
any people, but the ddo go after the trash cans that contain food.
People don't seem to be taking steps to keep the animals away, such as those
described in The Beast in the Garden, swhere cougars began by being interesting
for people to atch, and progvrressed to killing and eathing dosgs that were
left
outside, and eventually killed a teenage.
