Oh, Dave! How awful! Where do you live? Are you the person who some months ago was looking for a job but were hoping you didn't have to move away from your area and extended family? It sounds as if where you live is beautiful at times (like Louise's abode -- I love nature and rural areas, but not black flies, or any flies, and not bees, and I'm wary of bears) but what you described below is awful. Do you have snakes to worry about, too? The hill behind you worries me, with all the rain and melting snow you describe. Are there a lot of deep-rooted trees? Did you folk hear about the mountain, really a large hill, that came down suddenly in southern California and buried houses and people? Keep your ears open, please.
