I won't drink milk past the sale date either, if there is any left the
dog gets it.

Of course, I don't care that much for milk, and the dog loves it.

Hi Rose,

Yes, people are funny but think of how lonely the world would be without
them. My brother Mike would not drink milk past the sell date. He would
open
a new carton before he would drink the old stuff:)

My mother says when we have family gatherings that I need to buy
something at the store prepacked and never open it because someone might
get a dog hair since my Labrador is a pet but is a house doggie.

It never made sense to me because she had a bird that used to fly around
the house, sit on the table, leave presents in unexpected places yet she
was afraid she might get a dog hair in a cake I made or a dip I might
create or something.

When Mom comes here she even brings her own ice, which is really weird
since I buy ice to avoid having to fill ice trays which usually end up
half empty before they make it to the freezer if I do fill them.

People are funny!

Your mom sounds like my mom, Patti. I was the same way
-- having to clean when she came. Once my cousin, whom
I hadn't seen for years, visited L.A. First she
visited with my mom in Orange County. My mom told her
not to visit me because my place was a mess (it wasn't
as bad then as it is now) and she wouldn't want to.
However, my cousin did call me and wanted to come
over. I was working at the time and told her that I
wouldn't have time to clean up the place, but she
wanted to see my and my daughters, and so she came.
When she saw the place she said it wasn't at all as
bad as Mom had led her to expect. It was quite
presentable--just looked happily lived-in. We had a
lovely visit.
