Hi Evan and Mayrie,
So far I haven't found active speech. If I disable it, will I still be able
to read it with my Braille display, or will that make it stop reading
altogether?

Hi Sue,
Mayrie is correct. Once you choose Disable in the Active Speech section of
the Configuration settings, it will ask you if you are sure, because you
will need a screen reader to use K1000 if you disable it. Just hit Yes, and
K1000 will no longer speak.
