Hi, Cindy! Thankfully, only the flooring and carpets are being replaced.
When they took up the flooring, they found that the sub-flooring was still
wet. In the real world, it would have probably been replaced immediately,
since it had been three weeks at the time. However, in the world of
insurance, the sub-flooring must be dried out first. Then if it breaks
apart, it will be replaced. I've been there a couple of times this weekend,
and both times, the friend with me has said that the floor is still wet in
places. There isn't anything drying it out anymore, and I guess the guy in
charge of everything will give me the scoop tomorrow. And Elizabeth, I
probably have a harvest of mold growing in there right now, so I can truly
feel your pain! <LOL>
It is a perk not to have to cook. I do enjoy it occasionally, but I don't
really miss it too much. I don't have a kitchen area, but I do have a small
fridge and microwave. The microwave is pretty easy to use, now that someone
has explained it to me, so I can at least reheat leftovers or whatever.
Aside from the fact that it gets pretty lonely, and the walls have a
tendency to close in sometimes, I've made it okay. I'm trying to make the
best of a situation that is not so great... And you're right, all the new
floors will be so nice! I do want to have them to check the wall that
separates the two hallways in my house. Since both hallways were affected,
I want to make sure that there wasn't any damage to the dry-wall. That
could be a real mess! Oh, and thankfully, none of the furniture was ruined
at all. It's like all the water was absorbed into the flooring. <Smile>
Anyway, we're at 4 weeks today, so hopefully, the end is in sight. Take
care!
Jana
Then, it sounds like, you'll have a lovely, like-new house. I know you've having new carpets and flooring put in. What else is being done? How long has it been, now? Did you lose furniture and stuff, too?
Isn't it nice not to have to cook, are are you one who really enjoys it and misses it? Or do you have a kitchen area in your hotel where you can cook?

-------------------------------------------------------------------Hi, everyone! Last week I noticed that "Your Best Life Now," by Joel Osteen, is on the new wishlist. I bought this book several months ago and haven't had the time to scan it. Yesterday, when I went by my house to pick up a few things, I brought it back to the hotel to scan. Additionally, I also have books 7 through 9 of the Zion Covenant series, "Hadassah," by Tommy Tinney, and a couple that I can't remember the titles. <Smile> I just started "Your Best Life Now" tonight, and I hope to have it submitted early in the week. Gotta have something to do while they're tearing up my house! <LOL> Just when I think I can go home, there's another delay, so I'm done with trying to figure it out. I'll just stay put until the damage has all been discovered and all the problems fixed. <Smile>
