Katie, there are good and bad parts to Southern California. If you really 
find that you have to move down here, let me know, and I'll recommend places 
that are better than others, if that helps.

I would except I have everything paid for on this trip! Depending on what
happens, the direction I feel my life moving in, I may be in the LA area
more. I sure hope so, even though it isn't my favorite part of the country.

Katie,
I just realized, I will not be in town the week you are here. Frown.
I'll be in Eugene Oregon attending the Oregon festival of American Music.
It's so good, all of you need to stop scanning and validating books and come

and hear some wonderful music. Dick Hyman my favorite jazz pianist is in
charge of the festival. it is held every year, and it gives kids of all
ages, a chance to have two weeks of intense training from wonderful
musicians.
The play South Pacific will be put on this year, as they are saluting
Richard Rogers with his music being featured all week.
Then there are us older youngsters, the Elderhostel choir, which is fun too.

There will be four concerts plus the play, and lectures from composers etc.
I always get my pitcher full over the week.
The amazing part of the week is to hear the kids in bands and choruses
perform. They are always so good. So join me. It is so fun. I'm sorry Katie,
