Hi E and all,
That is very true. When you are blind from birth you grow up with a totally
different experience and I am sure skill sets. I lost my sight at 7 so there
are lots of things that I remember and I am sure I visualize things much
different than someone like you.

Blindfolding yourself would not give you the same experience I have. For
one thing, I never saw anything, not light not colors not objects. You
might, eventually (say if you kept the blindfold on continuously waking and
sleeping for months, come close to the experience of a newly blinded
person. (Remember to keep it on while sleeping or you will have the
experience of seeing while putting it on and taking it off morning and
night and you want to have the experience of finding the bathroom, for
instance, in the middle of the night blindfolded. My experience is not
that of a newly blinded person. I have lived as I am since birth and so
have learned to do things as a blind person including chopping with a knife
while cooking and taking things in and out of the oven. If I were newly
blind, I would RE-learn things which is truly a different experience.
