Yep, in fact Cindy I work for an agency who provides that type of training. I work for the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton, MA, www.carroll.org And they provide, an in-house rehabiliatation program, an itinerate program as wellas other severices. I work in the itinerate or "community and Educational services" department. Shelley L. Rhodes B.S. Ed, CTVI and Judson, guiding golden juddysbuddy@xxxxxxxxxxxx Guide Dogs For the Blind Inc. I count the stairs gong down to the basement where the washer and dryer are in case I evere go blind. I didn't consider the rest of the house, but I guess I subconsciously figure that I know the layout well enough to manage. I know there are places one can go to learn one's way around the house and ow to cook and stuff because once a man came to Minneapolis from Oregon and stayed with us for a day before going to such a training place--but that was over 50 years ago. Is such training for living still available? Cindy --- Jamie Yates <jamieyates@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Katie, my mom used to do that when I was a > child--count her steps.
