HI Jamie, Yes, buses can make a big difference. Where I grew up in Michigan, Royal Oak, then Ypsilanti both didn't have any kind of bus system. Ann Arbor did and after I left there in 94 they did have a run that went out into my old neighborhood which connected you into that system. When I lived in Arcata they had buses which ran up and down the coast and a fairly good system in Eureka and I used them. I am extremely fortunate now, living in Portland Oregon, where we have one of the best systems in the country. I hear they come from other parts of the country to see how they did it here:) Speaking of buses, I am on the bus heading into work. Katie Hill You can learn a lot if you are humble enough to listen. "In case I go blind someday" she would say. Or she'd practice writing with her left hand. "In case something happens to my right hand" she would say. She used to drive me crazy. I guess that's what mothers are for--to drive their children crazy. E. I am like you in that I make piles of things I will do later. And then I don't. I only checked out Sink Reflections but I am seriously considering buying the book (used of course). I need to do something. And, E., I would be bitter and angry if I were blind. I think I would have a hard time finding fault with anybody who is bitter and angry because of something not available to him or her. But I could find fault with someone who doesn't make the use of every resource available to him or her. Around here there are a lot of "working poor" families or those without access to a vehicle. We are fortunate in this county to have a good bus system even though we are really a rural area. And yet people won't use it. You have to call them and tell them you want the ride. And apparently that's an inconvenience. I lived in Cleveland where they have regular bus stops that only come at certain times and personally, I think our little bus system that picks you up when you want and takes you where you want to go, when you need to be there, is much more convenient. But there I go yapping again. I'm truly going to leave for work now. Truly, I am.
