I remember there use to be a conflict with the video or display settings needed for jaws and the settings needed for DVD's, but I believe that was resolved a long time ago.

Unfortunately, It is the actual "drivers" of the DVD drive that my screen
reader seems to have a problem with.

Smile, not the software, I have used Power DVD and would love to just be
able to run DVDs off my PC, would save me a lot of frustration, but my tech
guy a user, says you really can't do that, because of what it does to the
screen reader, is a strange qwerk of my machine.

*Ponders* Others may have more information on this than I do, but I'll admit
that I play my DVDs on the computer, using any number of applications,
including Intervideo WinDVD player. I'd love to hear others' suggestions on
this.

I do have a DVD player that connects to my TV as well. My first observation
was that the remotes are often designed very well, and you can tell the
arrow keys, the OK button, the numbers, readily by touch.

I've also learned that typically you can put the DVD in, and when it starts
playing music, press OK a couple of times. That will take you into the
feature presentation, but often, accessing the extras is difficult, which is
why I prefer the computer.

If others have other suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them as well.

I was very frustrated the last time I went to the video store, and found,
to
my dismay, that I can't get VHS yes, videos any longer.

So... it is time to bite the bullet as it were, and get a DVD player.

Does anyone have any suggestions on accessible ones, ones where you DON'T
have to see the screen to get the darn thing to play?

I can't use one on the PC, as apparently it messes up my screen reader or
so
the tech guy told me when I asked about it. Is something to do with my
PC.

Anyway, would appreciate any suggestions anyone has on stand alone, or
portable players that have worked for them.

Thanks you and sorry for the O_T. smile.
