Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Next Meeting of the Science Fiction Club, Thursday,
January 12, 2017
Hello Folks,
A slightly smaller than normal turnout at our most recent meeting, with mixed,
but mostly negative, reviews from those who read it of our book, The Avatar by
Poul Anderson. In memory of John Glen, for our next book, we’ve chosen an
anthology of space exploration stories in Mission: Tomorrow edited by Bryan
Thomas Schmidt.
The next meeting of the Science Fiction club will be on Thursday, January 12,
2017.
Time: 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific, and 2:00 UTC.
Place: Book Nook at:
http://conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs7867a2369e0e
Our book, Mission: Tomorrow is available as a digital download from BARD. You
can find the download link on the following page::
https://nlsbard.loc.gov/nlsbardprod/download/detail/srch/DB85476
The NLS Annotation reads:
An anthology of short-form science fiction
stories that focus on space exploration, travel, and
adventure. Includes stories from, among others, Jack
McDevitt, Alex Shvartsman, Robert Silverberg, Brenda Cooper,
Mike Resnick, and Ben Bova.
Come join us for our first meeting of the new year to talk about this book, our
memories of John Glen and the other astronaut pioneers, and other SF related
literature.
