Does it shut off and On like other scanners, the lamp?

Mine shuts off after about ten minutes, and works for me, but it is the Epson 1660

When you get it, don't install the drivers that come with it, instead go to the plustek website and download the latest drivers from there and install them. Make you have the scanner on when you install the drivers and also will include the software which we can't use anyway. There is an utility you can go into to make the lamp stay warm from 5 minutes to forever but it seems with vista it doesn't stay on long and I had a sighted perrson use the graphic with that darn old mouse and the jaws graphic labeler doesn't name that particular graphic. Otherwise you do everything normally in Kurzweil. Another thing, maybe someone can tell you which driver to use, I know it, just can't spell it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley L. I got a windfall,

and want to order the Plextech 3600 Book edge scanner.

When it comes, what do I need to be aware of in order for it to work well with Kurzweil.

I have a Epson 1660 who has worked very well for several years, but... you know that eventually the great little workhorse is going to die.

So Just wondering. Am comparision shopping today for it.

America has been called a melting pot, but it seems better to call it a mosaic, for in it each nation, people or race which has come to its shores has been privileged to keep its individuality, contributing at the same time its share to the unified pattern of a new nation. -King Baudouin of Belgium (1930-1993)
